When playing, press + + (tilde) and then type any of the following codes in the console (case sensitive): Code: If that does not work (which would not be terribly surprising), I will start comparing differences in the various setting files.Add -Dev as a command-line parameter to your shortcut for the game.Įxample: “C:Dawn of War – SoulstormSoulstorm.exe” -Dev Since the exes alone are actually pretty small, I'm gonna see if I can just copy his to my pc and have it work. Of those 8 files, the only 2 that are even moderately surprising are the exes.

Of note: every dll and mod file are identical across our installs (by md5 hash).

UPDATE (still not solved, something to try later): It's still possible that we have different versions of files, but I'm not sure how I would check that or what we would do differently to fix that/how it happened. The mod page also says something about bigger memory patches or which executable you run or some such, but neither of us did anything regarding other mods, and I only see one executable for soulstorm (and of course the mod manager executable, which we're both using to launch the game).

We walked through the install procedure to to make sure we did the same options.Downloaded the same files from the same place at essentially the same time, and installed in the same order. We both followed the instructions on for install and downloaded files on the same day.We both installed the game (and updated) via steam, so should have the same game version. They even say things like "if you don't see the games, you have different file versions", and that's fine - but: We can however see each other's names in the player list thing.ĭifferent file versions? Every post mentions different file versions as the likely cause. Cannot see his game, and he can't see mine. The issue: trying to play ultimate apocalypse mod with my brother. So I have found posts like this before, and in some of them the op even said they found a solution, but they haven't said what it was. Apparently that can also happen randomly ish, so that second step might not be strictly necessary Original Post: So we launched from steam and activated ua in the mods thing, then it worked. We got the idea to do this by comparing md5 hashes of files and determining that those were the only ones that were actually different (and then someone also mentioned that they did that).Īfter that, we got sync errors.

(No idea why those were different, but they were).

We had to do two things: I replaced my copy of soulstorm.exe with a copy of his.
